Graeme Lowdon, Cadillac’s team principal, tempered expectations earlier this year by suggesting the team will likely be backmarkers in their first season.
“You have to assume any new team is going to be last,” Lowdon said. “Otherwise, something has gone wrong somewhere else.”

“It is important to us to make sure there is a pathway for an American driver into F1. But for this inaugural season, experience carried the day.”
