Manchester United Seals Huge Deal for Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United’s Sesko deal has been confirmed with the club agreeing to pay £73.7m to RB Leipzig for the Slovenian striker. The fee includes a guaranteed £66.3m and the rest in performance-based add-ons.
Sesko will undergo his medical on Friday before making his move to Old Trafford official. He scored 39 goals in 87 games for Leipzig, becoming the highest-scoring under-23 striker in Europe’s top five leagues since 2023.
United Continue Their Summer Overhaul
Manchester United have already spent around £130m this summer on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. The Man United Sesko deal adds more attacking power to their evolving squad.
To manage spending, United cleverly structured payments and saved big by loaning Marcus Rashford to Barcelona, who now cover his full £325,000-a-week wage.
They also earned £5m from Chelsea after the Jadon Sancho deal fell through, and are seeking £50m for Alejandro Garnacho. Garnacho is attracting strong interest from Chelsea and is expect to leave.
Sesko’s Arrival Means Change Up Front
United are open to selling last season’s main striker, Rasmus Hojlund, for £40m. Hojlund managed only 14 league goals over two seasons.
Newcastle suffer a major setback after losing Sesko to United, having already missed out on Hugo Ekitike and potentially losing Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
Sesko brings pace, power, aerial ability, and clinical finishing, traits that have led to comparisons with Erling Haaland. He was among the Bundesliga’s fastest players, clocking 35.7km/h, and led strikers in aerial duels.
The Man Utd Sesko deal marks a key moment in United’s push to rebuild a dominant attack.
