Sha’Carri Richardson Arrested for Assault at Airport
Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested for assault at SeaTac Airport in Washington on Sunday.
She allegedly attacked her boyfriend, fellow runner Christian Coleman, after an argument turned physical.
According to a TSA officer, Richardson shoved Coleman into a column and later threw headphones at him.
Security footage reportedly shows her pushing him twice, causing him to stumble both times.
The couple, together for two years, had been arguing before the incident escalated.
Coleman tried to walk away, but Richardson allegedly continued to follow and confront him.
Footage Shows Escalation Caught on Camera
Airport police say security footage captured the entire altercation.
Richardson reportedly shoved Coleman multiple times before throwing an object that hit him. The incident happened just after the TSA security checkpoint.
Coleman returned to the screening area asking for help as the situation grew worse. Despite the recorded footage, both Richardson and Coleman denied any physical fight.
Coleman declined to press charges or be named as a victim.
Sha’Carri Faces Assault Charge But Competes Days Later
Police had probable cause to arrest Richardson and charged her with 4th-degree assault.
She was booked into SCORE jail, though the release time remains unknown.
Interestingly, both athletes appeared at a track event just days later in Oregon.
Sha’Carri Richardson arrested for assault now raises questions about her public image and Olympic future.
