Hulkamania, Stardom, and Legacy

Born Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan entered the wrestling world in 1977. His persona gave birth to “Hulkamania,” a cultural storm that peaked during his legendary match against André the Giant at WrestleMania III.

He later joined WCW, creating the New World Order, a villainous wrestling faction that revitalized his image. Hogan also starred in films like Rocky III and ran a reality show, Hogan Knows Best, adding mainstream fame to his wrestling stardom.

In 2016, Hogan famously won a $140 million lawsuit against Gawker, which marked a turning point in digital privacy cases.
