Iran Rebuilds Air Defence After Israeli Strikes

Iran restores air defence systems after Israel conflict, according to Mahmoud Mousavi, a senior army operations officer. He confirmed damage during June’s clash with Israel but Iran restores air defence systems after Israel conflict. He said domestic resources were used to quickly replace key defence components.

Israel’s air force had overwhelmed Iran’s airspace, dealing serious damage to Iranian defence systems. In response, Iran launched waves of missile and drone strikes on Israeli targets.

Mousavi explained that although some air defences were hit, pre-arranged backups were deployed to maintain national security. Iran’s systems include the homegrown Bavar-373 and the Russian-made S-300. The report made no mention of new foreign imports.

Last October, following Israeli strikes on Iranian missile sites, Iran had displayed Russian defence systems to signal recovery.

Diplomatic Efforts to Resume Nuclear Talks

On the diplomatic front, talks on Iran’s nuclear programme could resume next week. Iran’s Tasnim News Agency said discussions with the UK, France, and Germany (the E3) were being arranged.

A venue has not been confirmed, but both sides appear ready to engage. These talks follow threats from the E3 to reimpose UN sanctions if Iran doesn’t return to the negotiating table soon.

These European powers, alongside Russia and China, remain part of the 2015 nuclear deal. The US left the agreement in 2018, increasing tensions.

Iran Pushes Back Against Pressure

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi recently warned the E3 against using the “snapback mechanism” to restore sanctions. He said the West lacks moral and legal grounds for such pressure.

The nuclear deal, which limits Iran’s uranium enrichment, is set to expire in October unless new terms are agreed upon. Tehran insists its nuclear programme is for peaceful use only.
